At United Utilities, we supply 1.8 billion litres of clean water to 8 million people and 200,000 businesses across the North West every day. We also take away and treat wastewater, helping to protect public health, support communities and care for the environment we all share.

From 184 reservoirs and 57,000 hectares of catchment land to 575 wastewater treatment works and more than 42,000 km of water pipes, we're responsible for infrastructure that stretches from Cumbria to Cheshire and supports millions of people every day.

As our region faces some of its biggest challenges, from population growth to increasingly extreme weather, we're helping build a water system that's ready for the future. That's why we're investing more than £13 billion over the next five years, the biggest investment in our network for more than a century. This includes our Big North West Upgrade, one of the UK's largest infrastructure programmes, helping to modernise the network that millions of people rely on every day.
